Grain free means there are not any grains in any of the formulas. Some dogs are allergic to grains so our Grain Free formula’s are meant to be an alternative to dogs that maybe allergic to grains. We still emphasize high protein and low carbohydrates for optimum nutrition.

Ancient grains – Made with sorghum, brown rice, and millet. Modest levels of fat and protein. Always meat at the first ingredient. Always gluten free and free of corn, wheat, soy, by-products or fillers.

Grain Free – Made with a blend of tapicoa, potato, and peas. Always meat as the first ingredient. Always grain and gluten free. Also made without any corn, wheat, soy, by-products, fillers.

Haven – Our signature blend. Higher protein and fat ratio compared to the ancient grains. Made with sorghum, millet and quinoa; which are low glycemic binders.. All formulas are a multiple protein blend. Haven is also imbued with coconut meal, antioxidant rich super foods. There is also added chicken cartilidge for a natural source of chronodrioton sulfate and glucosamine. Added flaxseed, salmon oil, and cod liver oil for skin and coat support.

What food is the best fit for my dog?

Every dog is different just as every person is unique in their needs. Activity level, sensitivities, are just a few of the considerations that one must consider for their diet. Please contact us and we’ll do our best to help you find the correct fit. Consult your vetterinarian with any questions as well. We’re here to help! So please contact us here (insert hyperlink).

How much should I feed my dog?

On each bag we have feeding guidelines, but remember, they are just a starting point. Many things can influence proper food intake: Age, sex, breed, temperament, temperature, and exercise, hence why it’s only a starting point. Feed the amount that achieves the body condition you consider ideal. Many consider a dog with a visible waist from above, ribs that are not evident, but can be easily felt underneath the coat.

Pregnant dogs should be fed at least 1/3 more than normal and lactating dogs twice the normal level for the nursing period. Weaning puppies should be fed four times a day to four months.

Do you believe in free feeding dogs?

No. Our diets are higher in protein and fat, making them denser in calories and nutrition. Because of this you will need to feed as much as you may of other diets.

Is it okay to switch formulas?

Yes! Our diets are made to be switch routinely to help promote a healthier GI, keeping your dog from being picky, and also getting the most out of benefits from multiple protein sources.

Switching between flavors in a line is easier than switching between our lines of food. Otherwise us the six day play. Days 1 and 2 do a split of 75% old food, 25% new. Days 3 and 4, a 50%/50% split of food, and days 5 and 6, 75% new food, and 25% old. This should help with any digestive switches. Also, if you have a sensitive dog, plan accordingly and prepare to go longer.

Do you supplement Taurine in all your diets?

Yes! We supplement Taurine and dl methionine. Taurine supports heart function, eye health, immune system function, muscle tissue and also aids multiple other systems as well.

Bone FAQ

Are all bones created equal?

No, we’re afraid not, many factors go into the production of bones. We specifically use cattle 18 months or younger so the bones at their densest. Moisture is also incredibly important to monitor during the process as well.

Do you recommend recommend supervising a dog while they chew?

Always monitor your dog while they chew. If the dog chews too quickly, it isn’t the right chew for the dog. Bones should be slowly gnawed down and not meant to be ingested. The natural benefits of the grease and marrow can support a healthy skin and coat.

Are some bones harder than others?

Pork and lamb bones are softer and are perfect for light chewers. Beef bones are more dense making them perfect for heavier chewers.

How do you pick a bone size?

If the bone is small enough to fit in the dog’s mouth, it is too small for the dog. Check each label for recommended dog sizes for each bone.

What do I do if I get pieces or slivers off the bone?

Bones are meant to be gnawed. If the dog is above to break off large chunks or slivers, the bone should be taken away.

Where are your bones made and where do they come from?

They are both grown and processed in the USA.

Peak Chaser chews do not stain and have a pleasant smell with a tasty smokey flavor.

How long do Peak Chasers last?

It all depends on the breed and how aggressive of a chewer the pet is. We recommend buying a size that is larger than the dogs bottom jaw or length of their jaw.

What do I do if I get chunks or slivers off the Peak Chaser chews?

Put the slivers or pieces in the microwave for 45 seconds or so and they’ll puff up into a nice wholesome treat. Nothing can go to waste. You can do the same with the very end of the Peak Chaser chew as well.

Where are Peak Chaser chews made?

In the Himalayans of Nepal by a USFDA registered facility and the facility is certified by the state of California (CDPH).

How are Peak Chaser chews made?

Yak milk is first collected by a group of farms. The yak milk is boiled with cintinuous stirring with a wooded paddle called a “Kelu”. During the stirring process is when the lime juice is added. After 45 minutes of continous stirring the whte cheese starts forming which is seperated with a large bamboo sleeve called a “cherang”. The fresh soft cheese is spread onto a piece of cotton cloth that is tied and pressed firmly to drain all the excess water. From there the cheese is cut into pieces and then smoked for 30 to 45 days using a wood oven for hardening. This is the process that gives you a hard treat with a smokey flavor your dog will love!

Other than being a great chew, do Peak Chasers have any nutritional value?

Peak Chasers are a great source of protein without any harmful binders and are easily digestable.
